COMPOSER Takeshi Furukawa
Takeshi Furukawa, born in Tokyo and raised in Irvine a suburb south of Los Angeles, is a composer working in the Hollywood film industry. Since a young age Furukawa had his mind set on pursuing a music career, and was disciplined on the piano and viola. Although at one point Furukawa seriously considered a career as a concert performer, his love for film scores took over as he went on to received his undergraduate education at the Berklee College in Boston.
Moving out to Hollywood in 2004, Furukawa has been mentored by a number of legendary film composers, and has developed a unique sound and approach to film scoring. He currently serves as co-composer on the 2008 animated television series "Star Wars: The Clone Wars", as well as simultaneously working on various other film and television shows. His past credits also include orchestrating for such shows as "Star Trek: Enterprise" and sound designing for the CBS mega-hit series "CSI: Miami". In 2007, the Korean television network of KBS commissioned Furukawa to compose the logo music for their cable affiliates KBS-Prime, KBS-Drama, KBS-N Sports, and KBS-Joy.
